Saving bees with digital technology 

30% of the world’s food is produced by bees. Avocados, watermelons, apples, coffee… The work of bees is necessary to feed the planet or in a few years the species lost 30% of its population. To mitigate the phenomenon, the Serbian team of the start-up Beehold, composed of computer engineers and beekeepers, has created an artificial intelligence easy to use on smartphones or computers by all beekeepers, professionals or enthusiasts. 

The software connected to the hive allows us to digitize all the information about the activity within it, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week: the number of bees, the yield, the indoor temperature… AI is then able to advise the user on what to do to improve yield and preserve the bee population. Beehold has been able to measure that thanks to its innovation the activity can grow by 50% while reducing the annual loss of bees by 20%.
