Through its sails and flexible panels covered with organic solar cells, HEOLE offers energy-generating solutions that combine autonomy and sustainable development.
ENERGY AUTONOMY IN ALL DIRECTIONS
Behind the name HEOLE, an aggregation of the Breton word for sun “Heol” and the name of the Greek god “Aeolus”, lies a technology that brings together the performance of wind and light. It was an obvious choice for the young company from Vannes which, starting with the first organic boat sail, is now deploying applications to promote autonomy at sea, in the air and in isolated areas, using an indefinitely renewable energy.
The HEOLE technology, which is deeply respectful of nature, is based on the use of organic solar cells. Flexible and light, these OPVs have an unrivalled ability to capture solar energy, even at low light levels. With a remarkable carbon footprint, they are a solid and agile alternative to rigid silicon-based photovoltaic panels. After initial conclusive tests at sea, on the mast and in the sails of boats, the Breton team, which includes entrepreneurs, engineers and sailors, is now working to install its flexible panels everywhere, on all types of support.
“Our first eco-green solar sail made it possible to put a boat on positive energy by ensuring total autonomy on board (pilot, fridge, lighting…), while not cutting into its sailing performance. This first application allows us to imagine enormous opportunities for decarbonization.”
