Pin Bike is a patented system that, through an application coupled to a Bluetooth installation on the bike, allows to certify the use of the bike. This certification allows cities, businesses or schools to reward cyclists with economic incentives to spend in local stores.
30 cities and 4 European countries already conquered
Pin Bike has found the original way to promote the use of bicycles for daily journeys while developing local trade. Pin Bike users from a partner city download the app and receive a kit. The kit includes the Bluetooth system to easily install on their bike. Therefore, every time they travel by bike for a school-home or work-home trip, the Pin Bike users receives between 20 and 25 euro cents per kilometer. they will be able to spend that money in local businesses.
Measurable by the application, the results are there. After the introduction of Pin Bike, the use of the bike increases by 7 km per day and per person. The company’s first targets were cities and local authorities. Pin Bike has attracted 30 of them including 25 Italians and other cities such as Istanbul (Turkey), Braga (Portugal), Tallinn (Estonia). Today Pin Bike is also aimed at schools, public bodies or private companies that want to develop bike transport. The Italian start-up sees beyond cycling and gradually intends to open up to all other means of ecological transport.
